The Mauritius native Black-Barred Zebra Tang is extremely rare and is currently stock, but in limited quantities. They have thick black barring and tribal tattoos on their face. They stay smaller than many other tangs with a max observed size of 5 inches. This is definitely a grazing fish and will continue to do well with regular algae in their diet. Be sure to include higher protein items like mysis in their diet as well. There is very little known data on this beautiful tang, but it is believed that they are collected in rocky mangroves and near tidal pools, so be sure to have plenty of live rock in their new habitat.
