Trade rarities seem to be the trend here lately. This time the Three-Banded Butterflyfish is another rare fish is only found in certain areas of the West African Coastline. We recommend this guy to intermediate hobbyists because it requires a moderate level of husbandry care. Make sure its environment provides ample swimming space and live rock that allows it to hide and graze on. They should only have peaceful tank mates so they do not get picked on. Exercise caution when adding to a reef aquarium because they are known for snacking on corals and clam mantles. This butterfly can be difficult to get eating prepared diets at first. To entice them to eat, start off feeding live brine shrimp and slowly transition to frozen meaty foods. Dry foods can be added to its diet occasionally to fortify its nutrition.
