Bob's Picks

Its that time of year already and I am looking forward to attending the Regional Aquatics Workshop 2014 hosted by the Georgia Aquarium. Quality Marine is a proud sponsor of the event as it provides an opportunity for many of the Public Aquarium Professionals to gather and share information compiled throughout the year. The event will be held April 22 26, 2013. We hope to see you there!

On a hobbyist level, the Marine Aquarium Expo is being held April 6-7, 2013 at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, CA. While QM won't have a booth this year, this is still one of the best attended hobby shows showcasing some of the area vendors and providing hobbyists a chance to check out (and buy) much of all the latest equipment the industry has to offer. There are some well known speakers like Hobby Icon Bob Fenner, and Mr. Saltwater Fish Mark Callahan lined up for each day so if you are in town stop by and check it out.

From our Short Supply Chain in Fiji, we have a great selection of MAC Melanarus Wrasses (Halichoeres melanurus) that are the picture of health. These pest eaters are about as hardy and gorgeous as wrasses get.

One of our Central Pacific Facilities has sent us a killer selection of female and Male SSC Flame Wrasses (Cirrhilabrus jordani). These are brilliant, healthy and eating everything we put in front of them.

For those of you looking for that one show fish that no one else has, we have a super limited supply of XL Japanese White Bar Big Eye Soldiers (Pristigenys niphonia). To say we get these infrequently would be a grievous overstatement. They are in perfect shape and taking thawed silversides aggressively.

We have a very nice selection of Large and XL Large Polyp Cup Corals (Turbinaria peltata). There is amazing coloration and variety here. These are a unique coral, like mixing zoanthids with a plating Montipora.

Speaking of Montipora, we have a good supply of Aquacultured Plating Montipora (Montipora sp) in both Orange and Green that are brilliantly colored and good sized.
