Inconsistent Supply from Sri Lanka

Inconsistent Supply from Sri Lanka
Due to the escalating civil war in Sri Lanka, we expect to be receiving fewer shipments from the war-torn island. Fighting between the Liberation Tamil Tigers of Eelam (LTTE) and the Sri Lankan government has increased and has made it increasingly difficult for our collectors to get product out.
We foresee this problem will affect our supply from this region for at least the next month and perhaps longer. We are currently receiving irregular shipments once every few weeks and are trying to keep our inventory consistent by ordering from other regions.

Some of the species that we primarily get from Sri Lanka are:
  • Cleaner Shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis) Eastern Asia substitutes are typically smaller.
  • Blood/Fire Shrimp (Lysmata debelius)
  • Diamond Head Sleeper Gobies (Valenciennea puellaris)
