How to Handle Delayed Shipments
Due to circumstances beyond our control shipments can sometimes be delayed for a number of reasons. We recommend that with any delayed shipment (more than 24 hours) to at least test a few of the incoming bags for pH, ammonia, specific gravity and temperature BEFORE floating any of the bags in your aquariums. Especially in cases of extreme temperature a little extra attention to detail can make all of the difference in the world.
In the event your shipment has come in cold we suggest allowing your animals to gradually warm up to room temperature prior to floating them. Rapid fluctuation in temperature can be quite damaging so please keep this in mind as you start your acclimation process. The relationship between pH and the toxicity of ammonia is well documented so be aware of this as well. Please, do not hesitate to call if you have any questions.
