Adornatus Fairy Wrasses in Good Supply

Adornatus Fairy Wrasses in Good Supply
We have recently been receiving a consistent supply of male Adornatus Fairy Wrasses (Cirrhilabrus adornatus). These colorful and fairly uncommon fairy wrasses exhibit unique color patterns which become more apparent as they settle into their aquarium.

The picture to the right shows a male and female pair. The full color pattern on the body of the male is masked by a darker red that it displays when it is stressed. Under normal conditions the body is a much lighter color with one or two darker red markings just beneath the dorsal fin.

These wrasses can be very hardy in the aquarium and will accept a wide variety of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and even flake. As with most other Cirrhilabrus species a covered tank is recommended as they are excellent jumpers.
