Photo of the Week - Blastomussa wellsi

Blastomussa wellsi is one of only two species in its genus. It can be distinguised from the other (B. merletti) by the size of it's corralites (bigger) and the number of septa (more). They are usually found on lower reef slopes protected from wave action, and in somewhat turbid environments.

For best results in home aquaria, give them lots of food, moderate light, and gentle, non-laminar flow. Water quality doesn't have to be pristine. This photo is one of our QM Grown Reefhab Mother colonies.
