Photo of The Week Super Male Magma Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus sp.)
The super male Magma Fairy Wrasse is without a doubt a fiery colored, beautiful fish that will make a stunning addition to a reef aquarium. Not much is known about this wrasse since it was just recently discovered and described. Yet, we recommend following the same guidelines of keeping other Cirrihilabrus wrasses. Try adding them in a harem of 2-3 females to every male. They prefer tank mates that also have peaceful temperaments and can be added to reef aquarium without harming any corals. Like other Cirrihilabrus wrasses, the Magma is a known jumper, so make sure to provide a tight lid to the aquarium. After acclimation, try enticing it to eat by feeding meaty frozen foods. Once the wrasse is acclimated, it should become receptive to accepting a variety of frozen and dry foods.
