Photo Of The Week - Newtoni Wrasse (Thalassoma newtoni)
The rarely seen Newtoni is back in our livestock and a handful are available now. The ever attractive Newtoni is a hardy wrasse and one that will need a large tank. It has a somewhat aggressive temperament, but if hobbyists take the right precautions, it can be added to a community tank. To reduce this fish's aggressive tendencies, make sure its tank mates are of larger size and more aggressive. Also, this fish must be the last fish added to the tank. It is a carnivore, so avoid having benthic inverts in your tank for they could be eaten. Feed it meaty frozen foods to maintain it in optimal health. Once acclimated, dry pellets can be introduced to its diet as well.
